I have been involved in teaching and coaching for my entire life. Starting at the early age of five, I studied voice with my grandmother and soon discovered the attraction of the piano.
What’s really great about me as a teacher:
- I meet each student where they are.
- I utilize tools for focusing the mind and moving energy. These stem from the Kundalini Yoga tradition.
- My dance background helps teach rhythmic precision as a product of movements, not an abstract mathematical concept.
- I believe in teaching lessons that will last a lifetime.
- I am easy to work with as far a scheduling and lesson locale.
- I am willing to work in any repertoire and facilitate ease and confidence in piano playing.
- I offer performance opportunities through recitals, festivals and competitions.
- I am an active performer, thus I teach from my current experience.
- My approach is always fresh and never staid.
- My own work and insight from that day’s practice session come into play during my teaching.
- I work with a diverse range of students who vary by age, gender, race, income levels, etc.
- I am culturally sensitive.
- I work with differently abled students such as those who are blind, have learning disabilities, or behavior challenges.
- I have the ability to facilitate the purchase of a workable piano or keyboard to suit your needs if you don’t have a piano yet.
