The following are testimonials from parents…

From Lea P. ~

I have two sons that have taken piano for three years from Mr. Hukum (that’s what my boys call him) thanks to a recommendation from another parent. My 8 year old has grown tremendously! I’m amazed at his growth in obtaining a sense of beautiful musicality and reading music! I was encouraged by a mentor to keep him in piano to strengthen his math development. I am pleased to say that I now see the links coming together! He is now excelling in math at school. He really looks forward lessons, which was rare in the beginning. My six year old developed a love to ‘compose’ his own musical pieces by improvising on the keyboard at home and frequently asks for a critique when finished. Mr. Hukum is impeccable with identifying each child’s individual learning style. He is gifted in reaching the inner most point of a child’s mind and keeps them accountable for each and every choice they make when approaching the piano. By the way parents, you are not exempt from Mr. Hukum’s accountability factor, which is a good thing. He’s so supportive, caring, and knowledgeable about the world at large. It is clear Mr. Hukum naturally possesses a genuine LOVE for teaching children.

My son (8) and daughter (5) have taken piano lessons with Hukum since the age of 4. He provides them with quality musical instruction. He masterfully blends his musical instruction with a fun, patient, centering, and personalized approach. For each child he tailors instruction to best fit their personality and learning style. My children are excited to go to piano lessons each week!

From Tanya R. ~

I have two brilliant, rambunctious sons (8 and 9 years of age) who, in my opinion, possess natural musical talent. A good friend of mine, who also has two brilliant sons (probably not as rambunctious as mine), told me about their wonderful piano teacher, Hukum Singh. I was thrilled to expose my sons to the world of piano but worried that their “liveliness” might be a bit too much for Hukum to handle. Hukum not only handles their liveliness well, he supports it through unique learning experiences. At one particular lesson, my youngest son was feeling sad. Hukum asked him, “What does sadness sound like?” He continued the lesson by linking emotion with sounds and notes, subtly teaching my son about the power of music. He demands respect in a respectfully disciplined manner and encourages them to learn and play music they’ve never heard before. I’m pleasantly surprised at how fast they are learning to read music and how their neurons are connecting music via piano with other academic areas within their brains. I highly recommend Hukum Singh as a piano teacher, especially for children.
